Children and Adolescents
Childhood and adolescence is one of the most stressful times of life – in terms of personal changes, lack of control over one’s environment, and the number of new experiences that must be regularly managed. Developing effective parenting strategies to support children and adolescents to make good choices for themselves and behave in ways that move them toward their life goals is one key component of raising successful children. Other key components include building efficacy in your children by helping them develop confidence in themselves and skills to problem solve tough situations. It is also helpful to understand how family patterns may put up barriers to your children’s long-term success in relationships and life. At PCS, we have several specially trained therapists who work with children and adolescents individually and work with families to support children and adolescents in their developmental process. In addition, we can individualize intensive family treatment programs that include children in the change process and support families in supporting each other.
